After all these years of looking at historical and contemporary Seraphim depictions, I am still wondering about the different wing positions. I feel that there is a message in how the wings are aligned or folded. I found this pretty unusual depiction here in San Francisco.

Mysterious six-winged Angels are often positioned above windows in Orthodox churches.
This seems to be a reference to the Seraphic connection with the light we receive.
The Seraphim are believed to directly surround the Creator/God/the Divine Source, who many equate with being a bright radiant entity. This results in light itself often being thought of as carrying divine blessings.
As the light enters into the room, it is surrounded and framed by the Seraphic consciousness.

This beautiful stained glass Seraphim ornament was given to me recently.
I believe it was handmade in a monastery in the Ukraine.
I had contemplated a trip to Russia and the Ukraine soon to take more photos of the Seraphim artwork there.
I hope that the region will return to lasting peace quickly.

I took this photo in a museum in Moscow. The two mysterious six-winged Angels are painted on the frame of a door. (The blue one may be a Cherubim Angel & the red one most likely is a Seraphim Angel). I have seen this so many times throughout the years of looking at Seraphim depictions: They are painted either on the right and left of doors, or above doors. I think that is a reference to their purifying power, to their ability to burn away impurities. As one enters a sacred place, one receives Seraphic cleansing, clearing and purification that prepares for the optimal direct contact with the Divine/God/the Creator/Source. I know that same concept of walking through the gates of cleansing when approaching the sanctuaries in Egyptian temples. The closer one comes to the most holy, the more energetic cleansing is facilitated to allow for the direct connection and integration of the Divine energy & information. It seems to me that the same pre-Christian idea is reflected in the positioning of Seraphim Angels at doors in many churches, particularly the Orthodox ones.

I would like to use the month of March to celebrate the flow of inspired artistic expression we witnessed during the #SeraphimCreativityChallenge from December to February. Let's highlight some of the submissions and enjoy the variety of designs and materials.
This is one of the entries that Narin from Thailand submitted. @noonarin
She cut away most of the paper so that only the outlines of the Seraphim Angel remained.
Post 2022-03-03: This Seraphim Angel was created by Miho @seraphimbaby_miho from Japan for the #SeraphimCreativityChallenge.
I like the combination of paper, furry fabric and Rhinestones.
Mysterious six-winged Angel from the Hagia Sophia re-colored. There are four of the Seraphim Angels surrounding the dome. This one is my favorite one because it looks like a dancing or whirling Angel to me.
I re-colored the wings to be more red and blue because I suspect that centuries of water damage corroded the minerals.
This is some Photoshop magic. I started with an incomplete six-winged Angel and made it whole to be able to see all six wings. The original painting is in a museum in Moscow.
I really liked these carvings of Seraphim Angels in Moscow inside a small church on the Red Square.
There were in fact two carvings, but I did not get a good photo of the second one, so I just mirrored the same Angel to recreate the dynamic of two.
This one is inspired by one of my favorite six-winged Angels from St Paul's Cathedral in London (Color-enhanced).
Here another image from my photo roll from my trip to Moscow.
I cropped these mysterious six-winged angels from a photo of an ancient drawing I took in Moscow.
